Winter Is A-Coming.

November 11, 2010

It’s that time a year when you wake up in the morning and think, “what’s the weather going to be like?” Especially LA weather can be so unpredictable — 80 degrees one day then 50 degrees the next. Which is why I always keep a jacket on hand when I go to work. You never know what the office weather will be. And let’s be clear — I don’t take a JACKET… just a light coat that will keep me warm, yet not be too bulky or make everyone think I’m about to leave for the day. If you don’t have a work-type jacket, don’t fret. Head to J-Crew! Here are some of my favs:

1. Tweed Harriet Blazer: Sophisticated, put-together and can be work to work or even for a night on the town. Need I say more?

2. Double-drape Justine Jacket: This one is a little less work-looking and more trendy. Chic and very flattering due to the cut, this coat is a winner at work or anywhere you get cold!

3. Merino Necklace Cardigan: For all of you who just want to go cas’ and cashmere… then this one’s for you. Simple and super comfy, with just a touch of sass. Perfect for work and even dinner with your parents… or dinner with a date!

November 10, 2009

I love to wear scarfs. I think it’s a great accessory to pull your outfit together while keeping your super cozy and warm, and we all know that I’m perpetually cold. I can’t wait to unpack all my stuff from storage and pull out the millions of scarfs that I own. Meanwhile, here are some pretty cute ones this season:

And another question: What is your FAVORITE way to wear a scarf? Do you tie it in a knot around your neck? Hang it over your shoulders? Let me know in the comments!

Style Icon: Audrina Patridge and Lauren Conrad

October 7, 2009

Though I do admit that Los Angeles has some of the best weather in the world, I also recognize that it does get chilly. No, I’m not talking about 40 degrees (are you kidding??!). I’m talking about 60s and 70s. That’s cold for me. Which is why I love how Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge dress. Boots are stylish, simple, comfortable and most of all warm. It provides a put together look and I love how they both wear their skinny jeans inside. Also layer layer layer, just like how Lauren Conrad has a scarf and cardigan. No, the colors aren’t technically on the same palate, but they are all neutral, so it works.

Also, I love her little purse. Fits pretty much all you need, a phone, wallet and keys. The essentials.

Now that we’re starting to gear up for winter, what are essential items that we MUST have in our closet?

Which do you like best?

October 23, 2008

Leave me a comment below and tell me which sweater I should purchase. Both are from Gap and both are within the $48-$54 range – not a huge difference. The grey sweater also comes in light greyish-purple. Since I opened my credit card at Banana Republic, I have had the urge to shop at their sister stores. Hell, they even gave me a 10% off coupon. I am such a sucker.

My 5 Favorite Gloves

October 22, 2008

With the cold season starting to loom over us, I guess it’s that time to take out the winter clothes. I love accessorizing, especially with gloves. Here are my top five favorite winter gloves of all time:

1. These Merona Cable armwarmers from target are a whopping $10.99 which makes them a great bargain. The reason I enjoy these is because you can still do practical things without taking them off – play your iPod, type, paint your nails, hehe.

2. These Fairisle gloves are great because of the length. It bugs me when my wrists get freezing cold because my gloves aren’t long enough. These solve the problem and they come is 3 fun colors.

3. Since Banana Republic is my new favorite store, I had to add some stylish cable knit gloves from them. Warm and fuzzy, these are not just everyday gloves- oh and I love the belt on them.

4. If you liked the first pair of gloves, but still want separated fingers, these Fingerless Gloves are for you. And what a fabulous color! Gap always has the best plain clothing staples.

5. Last but certainly not least, I had to put in some fancy fancy Coach gloves…. driving gloves, perhaps. Chic, leather and super soft…..

So here is my question. Which kind of gloves do you like and why? What is your favorite? Leave me a comment let me know!

winter dress from urban outfitters

December 10, 2007

dress.jpegDuring the summer, I’d visit Urban Outfitters about 3 or 4 times a week. It didn’t help that I lived 2 blocks away from the store. Now that I’ve moved and the Summer turned to Winter, I don’t go there that often… and when I do, I haven’t been able to find anything good! Needless to say, I browsed through the store yesterday and found this amazing cute long sleeved dress. It’s the perfect thing to wear to a Holiday party or Office party. Just pair it with some tights and boots and you’ve got a complete outfit!
