An Affordable Faux Fur Jacket Is Always In Style

October 10, 2009

Picture 1

I swear that H&M always has the best deals. I mean with the economy the way that it is, no one can afford the luxuries that we use to be able to buy. But when the winter sets in and the weather takes a dive, who says you can’t be stylish? This jacket goes for a whopping $79 bucks. Now, I’m pretty sure you can’t beat that anywhere else!

Free People

May 18, 2009

I think I’ve posted about Free People before but I’d like to reiterate how much I love their clothes. If you have a job there allows you to wear stylish, funky clothing, definitely check them out. I love their edgy colors and fun hippie-ish look. I just got a couple tanks from Nordstrom Rack. On sale and so worth it. BTW, love this tunic below – great for the office, family gatherings, shopping on the weekend, basically anything.

Hobo’s Wallets, Purses and things…

February 5, 2009

How is it possible that I had not heard of Hobo purses/wallets/bags? I saw this sleek black wallet in Bloomies the other day and LOVE IT. It’s neat, shiny and not bulky. Plus the inside has a lot of compartments and has a cute pattern. The one I saw had black and white houndstooth, but I can’t find it online. Must find wallet.

Oh and I can’t forget aboutΒ  how cute and practical these clutches are!

Too soon for summer dresses?

January 20, 2009

I know it’s still pretty much the dead of winter, but for some reason, stores are starting to display an array of summer clothing. This makes me not only mad that I can’t wear this and also hopeful that I will be able to wear them soon! American Eagle is one of my favorite clothing stores for their plain and classic styles and reasonable prices. Despite, its pretty reputation, I try to stick with their plain classic styles that won’t go out of style. Take a look at a few of their cute summer dresses. Click on the pictures to go to the page. (*All dresses under $45)

Love and Chic – Affordable designer clothing!

January 16, 2009

I recently found out about the website, Love and Chic. They have some amazing designer clothing for cheaper than what’s you’ll pay in stores or on other sites.

They’ve got everything from Armani, Juicy Miss Sixty, Diesel, Burberry to Gucci and more. I love Gucci and I saw this track suit and just had to have it. I got it in the mail (free DHL delivery) a couple days later and was totally impressed! Great site and very fast delivery.

And for all of you men, they have a WIDE array of men’s clothing as well. Next up on my list is this Juicy track suit and Miss Sixty top.. can’t wait to get ’em!

I’ve always dreamed of a Juicy suit… never been able to afford one. So this year, I really want to get one. Not yet though, as I don’t have the money, but maybe one day.

I absolutely LOVE this shirt. I’d never seen it before I saw it on this site and the print is so adorable. Not to mention, the long sleeves would be great for winter! This, as well is on my list.

Thank you SO MUCH Love and Chic for your awesome clothing and affordable prices. I will definitely be back!

Jeans Jeans Jeans….Paige Jeans it is!

December 24, 2008

There are so many jeans out there that its so hard to choose from. And most of the time, you end up buying a pair and they stretch out or rip. This is what happened to a pair of $180 jeans I bought last year after 3 months of use!!! Anyway, a friend of mine recently introduced me to Paige Jeans. I’d never heard of Paige Jeans before, but I was amazed at the quality that I saw. Modeled after Paige Adams-Geller, they have a slim fit, but still have room for people with a little bit of curve. I would absolutely love to try a pair of these. Thankfully they just opened a shop in NYC!

After scouring their website, here are my top favorite jeans (Click on the pics for the links):

1. Women’s Blue Heights Skinny – ORBIT. I LOVE this color and the fit. Not quite a black yet not quite the regular bland light gray you always see!

2. Women’s Blue Height’s Skinny SOLSTICE: Another great design (skinny) and this is a classic color.

3. Women’s Melrose Straight Leg ROYAL SAPPHIRE: This fit is great because its classic and for petite people like myself, the wide bottoms don’t swallow up your legs. They are very tailored and like the pair above, they are a classic color.

Anyone tried Paige Jeans yet? I’d love to get a review. But judging from what I saw – their quality and fit and pretty reasonable price is a win-win situation!

Is Yummie Tummie really yummy?

December 19, 2008

Meet Yummie Tummie. The tank tops, shirts and long sleeves come in a variety of different colors, but it’s really whats in the middle that will excite you. From the top and bottom they are made or normal tank top material, however the waist is made of a tight fabric that will slim your waist and flatter your curves. Kinda like spanx for your midsection.. and pretty much everyone could use a little help with that. I know I need this because when I wear tops and I see that it’s all lumpy in the waist, I change clothes. They are a bit pricey, but I think well worth the price tag. Anyone else have luck with these???

free people are my people!

December 19, 2008

Free People is one of my favorite brands… I love their 60’s hippie /boho yet casual and stylish look. Here are a few of my favorite dresses and tunics….

Oooooh Cardigans!

December 19, 2008

I’ve been resisting the urge to buy more clothing – because my closet is packed and so is my dresser. However, I cannot resist the urge to search the web and web shop without buying. And I found this amazingly comfortable cardigan that’s loungy yet can be dressy on sale for only $20 at Macys! SCORE!

Happy Socks = Happy Feet

November 7, 2008

Lately, I’ve been a sucker for a good pair of socks. I’ve really gotten into the trouser socks (as I like to call it) because they are thin, colorful and very comfy. Happy Socks is probably my favorite online place to buy socks. They are a company based in Sweden that have aΒ  million pairs (ok ok 100 pairs) of colorful and fun socks – not to mention they are very reasonable in price.

Their socks are made from 80% combed cotton which make them extra soft and they are made in Turkey and DO NOT use child labor. So that’s already a plus in my book!

Check out some of my favorites:

the best lounge pants EVER! (i swear!)

November 6, 2008

I’ve done a fair amount of searching and purchasing to find the best lounge pants ever and these take the cake. They aren’t bulky like sweats, but they are super soft and form fitting – plus, the top folds over and prevents cutting off the circulation around your waist. For only $29 you can pretty much customize them to you exact size. You can get different lengths as well as extra small or large. And they come in a variety of different colors.

What are your favorite sweats or loungewear? I’d like to know!

A Peacoat would be nice.

October 23, 2008

I think I have become obsessed with buying coats/jackets and maybe that’s because it’s 46 degrees outside right now. I love peacoats as much as the next person, but having a peacoat that is both flexible and comfortable and STILL warm… well, now that’s just a bargain.

This particular coat is from American Eagle for approx 70 bucks, but you can get a 20% off with the online coupon code, and FREE shipping. Did I hear a bargain? It comes in light grey and navy. I love the gray but I always buy neutral colors. Maybe I’ll go for navy this time. Thoughts?

Which do you like best?

October 23, 2008

Leave me a comment below and tell me which sweater I should purchase. Both are from Gap and both are within the $48-$54 range – not a huge difference. The grey sweater also comes in light greyish-purple. Since I opened my credit card at Banana Republic, I have had the urge to shop at their sister stores. Hell, they even gave me a 10% off coupon. I am such a sucker.

My 5 Favorite Gloves

October 22, 2008

With the cold season starting to loom over us, I guess it’s that time to take out the winter clothes. I love accessorizing, especially with gloves. Here are my top five favorite winter gloves of all time:

1. These Merona Cable armwarmers from target are a whopping $10.99 which makes them a great bargain. The reason I enjoy these is because you can still do practical things without taking them off – play your iPod, type, paint your nails, hehe.

2. These Fairisle gloves are great because of the length. It bugs me when my wrists get freezing cold because my gloves aren’t long enough. These solve the problem and they come is 3 fun colors.

3. Since Banana Republic is my new favorite store, I had to add some stylish cable knit gloves from them. Warm and fuzzy, these are not just everyday gloves- oh and I love the belt on them.

4. If you liked the first pair of gloves, but still want separated fingers, these Fingerless Gloves are for you. And what a fabulous color! Gap always has the best plain clothing staples.

5. Last but certainly not least, I had to put in some fancy fancy Coach gloves…. driving gloves, perhaps. Chic, leather and super soft…..

So here is my question. Which kind of gloves do you like and why? What is your favorite? Leave me a comment let me know!

I got a deal at Banana Republic!

October 20, 2008

I’m usually not an impulse buyer but yesterday while walking by Banana Republic I saw this jacket and I had to have it. I didn’t fit into a size small (too big) and extra small was too small. Also the jacket was $250. After searching and searching and 2 stores later, I found the same jacket in the petite section of another BR. I quickly grabbed it. Turns out that up until yesterday they had a 30% off outerwear sale! When my jacket rang up at the register it was only $175…then of course I had to open up a BR credit card to get the extra 20% off and I got it for a grand total of $140. Boy, am I proud of my purchase.

Also when I signed up for the new card, I got a coupon book and here’s a tip, for all the online shoppers, use the promotion / coupon code NEWCARD for GAP, Old Navy or Banana Republic for an online 10% discount.

Hot Pink Oven Gloves!

October 20, 2008

I’ve been way into cooking for quite some time, and every birthday I get cooking supplies…most PINK because that’s my favorite color for gadgets and acccessories. This birthday I got these pink oven gloves. My first thought was that they are too fluffy to be practical, but after 2 months of using them, they are the best. Here’s why – they are super soft, very very heat resistent (which oven gloves should be) andΒ  best of all, they have individual fingers for easy handling!

101 things to do with ramen noodles

September 9, 2008

I happen to not be a poor college kid, and I happen to have a job – but despite the fact, I still love ramen. Not only because its cheap,Β  but I just love the taste. One of my roommates in college taught me a new way to eat it – throw away the sauce pack it comes with, drain the water and add soy sauce. This got me thinking and soon I was putting butter and parmesan cheese and creating other concoctions. Then I saw this book, 101 Things to do with Ramen Noodles, and I thought, I must have it! What a great way to utilize such a cheap, popular staple in my diet to make a whole new array of dishes!

grill pans are the best!

September 2, 2008

For my birthday this year, one of my present was a grill pan. I know – sound boring, but I guess that’s what you get when you get older and you really don’t want any more clutter or toys. I have been grilling up a storm this weekend and this past week with new ideas from the internet and cook books. This is was by far one of my favorite.

Grilled tomato, basil and mushroom skewers. Pretty yummy. And a pretty color!

i got a record player!

September 2, 2008

This past weekend, my boyfriend Andrew and I set out to buy a record player. No, we’re not DJs, we just like music and it sounds a hell of a lot better on a record player. He works at Guitar Center so we checked out a bunch of turntables. Unfortunately buying a turntable brings on the issue of having to buy a mixer to control the volume, speakers, a needle and a bunch of cables to connect everything together.

We settled for this cheap, portable record player and it definitely gets the job done. It was only $50 bucks and it comes with speakers, a volume dial and a case. Although we had some Rockit speakers and they sounds even better. I absolutely love it. Then we headed down to St. Marks and picked up a bunch of used records for like $5 each! What a great deal!! (Except Herbie Hancock – that was only $3… !)

Dust Bunnies love dust!

August 18, 2008

I hate dust but I love bunnies and I absolutely LOVE this dust bunny! So cute that it doubles as a room decoration! Anyway, who doesn’t love a bunny
