This is by far my favorite Holiday Season! I love giving gifts and I love celebrating with some hot chocolate or apple cider by the fire…. YUM. If you’re like me and are clueless what to get your guy for the holiday season, here are some tips… courtesy of TMI Weekly!
I’m working on this new show called TMIweekly – a 3x a week show hosted by Julia Allison, Meghan Asha and Mary Rambin. From SEX, TECH and STYLE, this show covers everything you are thinking, but no one says out loud. Definitely TMI!
Watch and let me know what you think in the comments below!
I really love the Compai girls. They are creative, passionate and overall energetic and quirky. On today’s Threadbanger episode, they took a plain ‘ol wifebeater – ish tank top (P.S. why are they called wifebeaters?) and some scrap fabric to make it into a jazzy summer tank. I love this idea because it really doesn’t require much fabric ( you can probably use what you already have) and it literally takes minutes to do. Fabulous, I tell ya.
Plus they have a ton of other ideas and inspirations in their book series, 99 ways. Check that out!
If you’ve always wanted one of those bolero/shrug wraps but ever found the right one, now you can make one! This is a great tutorial with easy steps to make one from an old turtleneck! And also, if you don’t have a sewing machine, get out your video cameras, because now is your chance to win one!
Check out this video where Rob and Corinne from Threadbanger show you how to make your own eco-friendly cosmetics. It’s really easy and really fun – plus you can add your own fragrances and essential oils!
Spring is here and that means its time for Spring Cleaning! For those of you don’t want to use those chemical cleaners that you see at regular drug stores, check out this episode and see how you can MAKE your own cleaning products out of natural ingredients!
If you still need something special for Valentine’s Day, check out this video, where Rob and Corinne of Threadbanger show us how to make a sweet pair of boxers out of 2 pillowcases, and a rad corset with some old clothing.
What’s a baby pod, you ask? Well it’s this little sweater / jumpsuit thing that your baby wears! It’s super simple to make and it’s really cute. Plus, you’re baby will look just adorable in this. Thanks Threadbanger for showing us how to make this! Also, if you are concerned with the drawstring around the hood (kids under 5 aren’t supposed to have drawstrings; they’re very dangerous) then just substitute it for elastic!
I always have huge baggy sweaters and have nothing to do with them. Thankfully, Rob and Corinne featured Compai on their show and they showed us what to do with our old sweater.
I used to be a jewelry designer… and ever since I moved to New York, the novelty wore off – mainly because I never knew where to get my supplies. Thanks to Metal Chik, I know now the biggest and most useful jewelry store in New York – Metalliferous. It’s one of a kind and it has everything you need to get started on jewelry making!
When planning a wedding, make sure you DO YOUR HOMEWORK! If you have a concept, colors and theme sorted out, it makes planning 100% easier than if you are scrambling last minute to figure out the smallest details…. Just ask Preston!
Next New Networks just launched this awesome show called Metal Chik. It’s a weekly 3 – 5 minute video podcast with the Funky Victoria Tillotson shows us how to make jewelry. Thank God, because I’m sick of everyone buying the same piece of jewelry that I have from Urban Outfitters. Last episode included how to make a stone ring. Check out the site at www.MetalChik.com
She makes it look so easy!!! Any ideas on where I can find a good beading store in NYC so I can make some of my own jewelry?
It’s that time again, yes… it’s Monday! And if you’re having a bad day at work, maybe you just need to take a 3 min break and watch this video. Anyway, what’s more uplifting and happy than 2 people in love getting married? Yeah, that’s what I thought…nothing…..Hooray Brideorama!
Check back on Thursday for a few tips from Wedding Guru, Preston Bailey.
