Best Shoe For Running A Marathon! – Asics Kayano 15

October 20, 2009

I just purchased the pair of shoes that I’m going to be running the Las Vegas Rock N’ Roll 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) in. Asics – Kayano 15 – in Pink (in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month!) I am super stoked because the shoes are cute and not only very lightweight and comfortable. I ran 5 miles with them this morning – no problem!

Part of the main reason why I bought these is because my feet slighly turn into the arches (I am pronate) so these provide extra support. Also, because of the gel soles, they are really easy on the knees and joints. It’s not worth screwing up your knees. I love these shoes and if you are running a marathon, half marathon or even 10/5k, then I urge you to check them out!

What’s your FAVORITE mascara?

July 10, 2008

Mascara is probably one of most important things in my makeup collection. My eyelashes are no more than 1.5 centimeters long at the most and my eyes don’t shine on their own. Therefore I resort to mascara.

There are so many brands on the market now and I’ve gone through about half of them, but needless to say, I think I’ve found the my favorite.. well my 2 favorites.

1. Diorshow by DIOR. $24 at Sephora.

2. BADGal Lash by Benefit. $19 for the full size of $9 for the travel size (this is good for you if you don’t use mascara often.

*I also will note that I usually use a Clinique’s lash primer, just for the extra conditioning and to make sure my lashes don’t fall out too soon. hehe.

What I’m listening to right now: Augustana

July 9, 2008

One of my favorite bands (I’ve seen them 6 times live) is Augustana. I used to work at their record label when they got signed so I’ve been a fan since there were only 4. Now that their sophomore album (Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt) is out, I had to buy it on itunes and needless to say, it’s growing on me. It showcases more vocals than the first one and it’s got a lot of piano. A good buy, I must say. So if you’re in the market for some rock music infused with soulful lyrics and catchy phrases, pick up this album.

*Listen to “Sweet and Low” and “Fire”… awesome songs.

UNIV Jeans and Robust Flavor

June 18, 2008

About a week ago I received a shipment of UNIV black skinny jeans and a few t-shirts. I must say that these jeans are probably my FAVORITE jeans ever! They fit SO well and aren’t the flimsy usual jean material that rip after 2 months (COUGH::Citizens::COUGH). I wore them for the first time and they don’t stretch out by the end of the day. They also come in 2 colors. WELL worth the $$!!

By the way, HOW CUTE is the Marilyn shirt?? I just LOVE this stuff from Robust Flavor. Check out their site, they have a TON of cool stuff!

…Because I knew you, I have been changed for WICKED!

Last night I saw Wicked, the best play I’ve ever seen at the Gershwin Theatre with my mom, Tom and my boyfriend Andrew. It’s a bold statment, yes I know, BUT Wicked was amazing. Growing up as a little girl I used to adore Dorothy and Toto from the Wizard of Oz. In fact, I was Glinda for halloween a few years in a row! (Oh, how I miss that blue sparkly dress!) I would sit at home on the weekends and watched the worn out VHS tape of the Wizard of Oz that we’d taped off tv… commercials and all! Well… I never really understood or questioned why everything in Oz was the way that it was. I guess it didn’t matter back then. But now I started to wonder…why didn’t the scarecrow have a brain, the lion a coward and the tinman have no heart? Why were the witches like they were…good and evil, and the Wizard… powerless? And lastly, why did the monkeys have wings??? I guess we kind of just watched and understood… no questions asked.

Furthermore, when I was in college, my best friend and I sang the song, “For Good” for our sorority’s recruitment. Tears were shed, and I’ll never forget the memories… which is why (I guess) this play has a very special place in my heart!)

Well this Broadway musical answered every question and more. It was truly an inspiring play. I would see it over and over!!! If you haven’t seen it, I highly encourage you to!
