J Crew for you.

January 29, 2009

picture-23

The J Crew Dress: Maybe I have way too many dresses that look like this, but somehow I always gravitate back to this type of dress. I’ll admit, I don’t have the perfect body shape and this dress really looks good on skinny, no shape, body types. I tried it on yesterday and loved the soft comfy material, but couldn’t bring myself to shell out the $78 bucks. Sale, anyone?

Best Candles of the Year: TOCCA

January 27, 2009

Tocca candles are to die for. I kid you not. I’m a huge candle addict. I recently bought a $25 Red Sangria candle from Banana Republic and was sadly disappointed that it burned through in a month and didn’t even smell good. My boyfriend buys cheap Glade candles, which also do not smell. So you can imagine how estatic I was when I received this Tocca candle and I could already smell it through the packaging and through the bag it was in.

The Test: I took it home and burned it and it had an overwhelming sweet smell that radiated throughout my entire apartment. Yma is my favorite because its sweet guava and currant smell is amazing, but I’m sure their other scents are just as great. Plus they are very affordable compared to my $25 Banana Republic candle. Try them…. I bet you will love them too!

Did I mention I’m obsessed with boots? I love these, but not so sure about the outside zipper. I need your honest opinion.. what do you REALLY think? They are on sale at Victoria’s Secret for $129. Score!

Skirts I want, but probably don’t need.

January 23, 2009

I haven’t been to Urban Outfitters in quite a while and I’m pretty ashamed at myself. But, I swear, it’s because of the cold weather and me being lazy and staying in my warm apartment. But, since Spring will literally spring upon us before we know it, i need to get a spring skirt. Or maybe 2. (both skirts from Urban Outfitters)

Earmuffs, Ear Muffs, Ear Warmers.

January 21, 2009

New York weather actually got to that point where I thought to myself, damn, I need some earmuffs. I’d been walking around with a beanie and hood, which restricted 100% of my peripheral vision. I know, they look totally dorky but I don’t really care. What’s your favorite style and kind?

1. Classic style, suede and on sale at Macy’s for $21! Not bad, but I have a feeling they’d mess up your hair and be annoying.

2. Boomers – Essentially the same style, however these come in funky bright colors and you can’t listen to music while staying warm! Score!

3. Shearling Earmuffs – Love these by J. Crew. Funky, fun and have the band on the top so they don’t get tangled with low ponytails or hoods.

Too soon for summer dresses?

January 20, 2009

I know it’s still pretty much the dead of winter, but for some reason, stores are starting to display an array of summer clothing. This makes me not only mad that I can’t wear this and also hopeful that I will be able to wear them soon! American Eagle is one of my favorite clothing stores for their plain and classic styles and reasonable prices. Despite, its pretty reputation, I try to stick with their plain classic styles that won’t go out of style. Take a look at a few of their cute summer dresses. Click on the pictures to go to the page. Bambola VS Bonanza by Steve Madden

January 20, 2009

picture-13I’ve been wanting some boots like these above – and I’m sure you’ve seen them all over – they are pretty popular nowadays. I saw these at Steve Madden (called Bonanza). When I went to check them out I wasn’t as thrilled as I though I’d be. Although a reasonable price (on sale for $80), they still looked pretty cheap and with NY winter weather, they would get wet and definitely fall apart.

I then saw these (Bambolo) boots. With a bit of a higher price tag – $189 – on sale from $270, the price tag was still a bit steep. What pretty much sold me was their sleek look, and definitely not so cheap looking, especially with their real leather, versus suede. They would be able to withstand harsh-er weather. I went home and searched for some coupon codes and ended up purchasing them for $150! (20% discount using coupon code CABIN20). I also got free shipping. I am so happy with my purchase, I can’t wait to get them in the mail! (ps. the brown look grayish in real life)

I recently found out about the website, Love and Chic. They have some amazing designer clothing for cheaper than what’s you’ll pay in stores or on other sites.

They’ve got everything from Armani, Juicy Miss Sixty, Diesel, Burberry to Gucci and more. I love Gucci and I saw this track suit and just had to have it. I got it in the mail (free DHL delivery) a couple days later and was totally impressed! Great site and very fast delivery.

And for all of you men, they have a WIDE array of men’s clothing as well. Next up on my list is this Juicy track suit and Miss Sixty top.. can’t wait to get ‘em!

I’ve always dreamed of a Juicy suit… never been able to afford one. So this year, I really want to get one. Not yet though, as I don’t have the money, but maybe one day.

I absolutely LOVE this shirt. I’d never seen it before I saw it on this site and the print is so adorable. Not to mention, the long sleeves would be great for winter! This, as well is on my list.

Thank you SO MUCH Love and Chic for your awesome clothing and affordable prices. I will definitely be back!

Eat, Drink and Be Yummie!

January 15, 2009

picture-11

Thank you to everyone who wrote in and said that I should try out Yummie Tummie.Well I did just what you suggested and I got myself one. I absolutely love the material and I can now see why you guys are big fans. I do admit, I don’t really have that much to conceal, however, today I’m wearing a skin tight tank top and super tight jeans. In fact, I just pulled them out of the dryer and they did feel a bit smaller than usual. (if it’s not the dryer, then it’s the holiday pies and cookies that I’ve been eating.) I slipped on my Yummie Tummie and voila! No more lumps, bumps or any buldges. Perfection!

And if you’re holiday has been anything like mine, remember to visit www.eatdrinkandbeyummie.com for a ton of recipes, ideas, widgets, photos and more and see how Yummie Tummie can be a part of your wardrobe, while secretly making you look slimmer and trimmer.

Unique Body Products: Uniquely Emu

January 14, 2009

I have been using emu oil for abour 10 months now as an all over body oil. Like I said earlier, I have very dry (eczema) skin. I researched all of emu oil’s healing properties and how it is more easiily absorbed into human skin because of its likeness. Emu oil, however is pretty expensive so I was buying the cheapest I could find. It was doing an adequate job, but for my skin I wanted to see its healing properties. I finally splurged and purchased 2 8oz bottles from Uniquely Emu for around $75. Uniquely Emu’s oil is AEA certified (Certified by the American Emu Assosication) to ensure you get the best possible products.

emu-oil-all

Right off the bat, I notied the oils thick cloudy consistency. It’s not thin like oil that melts and rolls off your hand, creating a messy situation. This oil is thick and stays put until you rub it. I was amazed by this high quality product and convinced that AEA oil is definitely well worth the extra bucks. Not only does this help with skin inflammation,  but it keeps skin soft and smooth. And I can certainly attest to that, seeing as my skin soaks up regular oils after about 10 minutes.

I then came back to the site and ordered a few more products – reviews below. Overall, I am not amazed by only the high quality of the product, but the customer service can’t be beat. Their customer representative, Susan went above and beyond what regular customer service people do to help their customers. She wrote out very nice, helpful and details emails that were very tailored to me as a customer and sincere. I cannot express how excited to receive the rest of the products in the mail and how grateful that I was investing my skin in a company that has such great products and values.

If you have a history of eczema, psoriasis or just very dry and flaky skin, I really urge you to buy natural products that contain emu oil. I swear by it and guarantee you will see results. And unlike me, try to splurge and get the best kind, like Uniquely Emu. Your skin will thank you!

picture-2

Facial Moisturizer - This product is by far the thickest and creamiest face cream that  I’ve ever tried. About a few years ago I’d given up on a facial moisturizer because they just didn’t moisturize enough. They were thin and left my skin feeling parched. This is by far the best for you if you have dry sensitive skin.

picture-3

Shampoo and Conditioner - I’ve use both the shampoo and conditioner and to tell you the truth I like the shampoo better. Both are very creamy and looked like some kind of whipped dessert. They smell delicious and are a great consistency. The shampoo gave great lather and you didn’t have to use much so it lasts a long time. The conditioner however wasn’t very slipper so I did use a lot to get to all of my head since my hair tangles easy.

picture-4

Bar Soap - I’m usually not a bar soap kinda gal, but I figured, what the hell – I’ll try it. I was actually surprised that this bar soap lathered so well and was very creamy. After soaping up, your skin feels slippery and very soft. However the longer I was in the shower scrubbing my skin, eventually all the sliminess rubbed off and my skin felt squeaky clean. This is good for people who love that feeling, but I tend to like my skin a little slippery, as if I took a shower in soft water, so maybe next time, I won’t scrub so much afterwards.

If you’re looking for something to spice up your boring apartment or home and give your walls a refreshing look for the new year, look no farther than TheGusz.com. I’ve been a huge fan of The Gusz since the site launched last year. There are some real cutting edge modern-esque prints that look great in any style My favorite part is the writing on the artwork.

Also for a limited time, you can get a FRAMED print and stickers for $100. A pretty good deal considering framing a print yourself would cost almost as much.

Someone was looking for you, I can’t remember who.. or when it was. Just wanted to give you the message.

January 6, 2009

If you know me, you know that I really need this shirt. And I’m in luck because unlike all the other shirts on Threadless.com that went up in $$, this one went down. Hmm interesting. It’s now $9.
