Hey guys! Check out these really cool reusable tote bags. They are small enough to roll up into a ball and fit in your purse, then when you go grocery shopping (or any other shopping, for that matter), you can decline those plastic bags and use your own. It’s an eco-friendly bag and helps out the environment. Plus, they are so cute! Buy one for $12 at Flip and Tumble.
I made these shirts yesterday for my boyfriend. He has to wear collard black shirts to work and quite frankly, he was running out of them. I went to Old Navy and bought 2 plain polo shirts for $12 each. I printed out pictures on from the internet and cut out the negative spaces using a pen razor.
For the elvis shirt, I painted the image. I left the color uneven to add more texture. For the Jimi Hendrix shirt, I sponged the stencil. This worked out well because I used a mix of white, gray and black for the shading on the face. Then I painted the headband red so it would stand out.
I just bought an awesome wedged brown leather heel, with a slingback strap from Navid o Nadia. I went online to find other shoes by this company because they are really comfortable and I found this pair. AHHH, on sale for $19.95 from $60 bucks. I’m not going to tell you where but I’m sure you can find them. What color do you like best?
.. If you’re a single woman in NYC, yet you go on a bunch of dates, you may be doing something wrong.
Let’s face it, there are tons of girls who make stupid stupid mistakes and wonder why they aren’t single. Ladies, listen up, you’re not the only fish in the sea. And, you “don’t make friends with salad!”
Seems like a cool concept, huh? It’s this even that my work hosts. We all gather at this bar and they have a stage set up with light boxes. There’s about 10 light boxes and people go up in turns and draw 8 index cards. So you take the last person’s drawing and add 8 more cards… in effect, continuing with their animation. Then at the end, someone scans the cards and makes it a short animation. It’s fun and you don’t have to be able to draw at all… heck, half the people there are drunk.
Here’s a pic from the event last night. Check this link for more pics.
… what would you do? Ok, so I don’t mean all the money in the world.. but maybe 20 million. Hmm.. I often think that I’d live my life pretty much the same way, but I wouldn’t be forced to buy the small coffee instead of the large, or hem my own pants, just to realize they come undone 3 weeks later.
I mean, don’t get me wrong… I love to shop, but I really can’t afford much right now. I would love a pair of Manolo Blahniks, but truth be told, I’d probably feel awkward and selfish wearing such a high priced shoe… that really can’t be THAT much better than the $50 shoes that I bought 5 years ago on sale at Steve Madden, is it?
A girl can look, right? I just love those Christian Louboutin shoes also!!! So fancy!! Yup, I guess I’m just a normal city girl.
.. and I mean it! When I lived in CA, Target was cool.. yea, I’d shop there every once in a while, but it wasn’t my favorite store out there. Once I moved to NY, I soon realized how I’d taken poor Target for granted. It’s amazing. Their furniture is classy and affordable and not to mention their clothes (uh, that dress below is only $19.99).
We’ve got K-Mart (which is weird that they can afford rent in the city when all other K-marts are going bankrupt), but it’s not the same. Come on Target, you have ads in Times Square, it’s time to get you ass to the city!
I love mugs. Bug mugs, small mugs, mugs with bug handles, cool designs, you name it. I found these great mugs online
I found these 2 mugs on Poppytalk, which are reminiscent of high-school and I just love them. I bet you could even get a dry-erase marker and write notes on the lines!
I found this mug on becauseimaddicted.com and it’s great. Part of the reason why I buy cups of coffee is because I love their nifty mugs. This one is not only reusable, but its so pretty and porcelain. It comes with a silicone lid - how fun!
These mugs are from Tiki Talk and they’re fantastic! Check out the skull mug… creepy, huh?

have you ever felt material made of bamboo? yes! the weed. well unlike what you’re probably thinking now, it’s super soft and cozy. props to Ma Petit Chou for finding this ecoSkin bamboo clothing. I just LOVE this dress, but head on over to her site and ecoSkin to view more.
I grew up literally less than a mile from Rachel Bilson. She went to high-school within walking distance from my house. I really love her. She’s beautiful and in pretty much every picture, she looks good. She’s got great style and even when she wears a t-shirt and jeans, she looks good!! Who are your style icons?
Top Shop is a really cute, affordable and trendy store. Unfortunately, you won’t be stepping foot into one of these unless you visit the U.K. anytime soon. Everytime I used to go visit family in London, I’d head down to Piccadilly Circus and check out the latest fashions at Top Shop, like these adorable shoes!!! Anyone live in London and want to mail me a pair? Size 6!!!
Ooooh. I am so excited for the days to warm up to 80 degrees. Yup, I’m a beach girl at heart and I hate wearing sweaters. I went shopping this weekend because I had a dress in mind that I wanted. Something simple, with capped sleeves, but not too tight and not slinky material. I wanted something that I could just slip on and be casual, yet be able to dress up if I wanted to wear out. I found a couple dresses at Urban Outfitters and I really liked them, but was too lazy to try them on. Now, that’s all that I can think about. Here they are.. any thoughts? (click on the images to buy them!)
Check out this video where Rob and Corinne from Threadbanger show you how to make your own eco-friendly cosmetics. It’s really easy and really fun - plus you can add your own fragrances and essential oils!
I see Le Mer products all over New York and when I’m not seeing this expensive beauty and cosmetics line, I’m reading about it in magazines. Ok, so sure Gwenyth Paltrow, Rachel Bilson and Paris Hilton uses this… but let’s all face it. They can afford it! So this is my question to you - is it really worth the price? $125 for 1 oz of face cream???
Then I read about the Cosmetics Restriction Diet in the NY Times and it basically said that a person only needs a good cleanser and a facial sunscreen - all that can be purchased for under $30 at your local drugstore.
Maybe you live in city with dry, horrible, relentless weather, like I do in New York City. Maybe you have a skin disorder such as eczema, like I do. Well I’ve done a bunch of research and I’ve come across both of these creams. I don’t really like to use the generic Aveeno or Cetaphil lotions that you find in the stores because I don’t think they have the essential minerals and ingredients that someone like me needs.
Has anyone tried either or both of these? If so, I want your reviews!!! They are both pricey - about $25-$35 bucks for a jar.
I think I need a new tote bag for the summer. Plain and simple. After regretfully buying many cheap $20 tote bags, I’ve finally come to the realization that I want a tote bag that’s soft, has a lot of pockets, fun and bright and has straps that are long enough to fit my arm through comfortably (with extra room). I searched and searched and I’ve come back to the by Vera Bradley. I love this color and I love this bag. I’m just not sure that I want to spend $72 bucks on this bag. Does anyone have any reviews on this bag? Is it a good one? Does it last long? Which color do you prefer!?
I know that you’ve all heard of Forever21. It seems like they’re having this brilliant buys thing going on where you can stock up on summer clothes for DIRT CHEAP. Check this out:
